#18 ELENA RENDINA

London based photographer Elina Rendina‘s work for the Swiss Design Awards is inspired by a task of one of her art teachers at school: “Close your eyes and tell me what you see”. Elena transfers her ideas to photography. Here you can see a little insight of her work.

Which priorities and / or concerns do you currently face in your practice and how do you face them?  In other words – which critical questions keep bouncing back within your work / projects?

It depends. If it is a commissioned work, the priority is always to find a way to apply my aesthetic to the client’s needs, working around the message they want to send through the image and respecting the brand characteristics.

As for my personal projects, it’s more about exploring new ideas and develop my style.

“Doubt, Delight and Change!” – was a claim by Cedric Price (an unconventional and visionary architect best-known for buildings which never saw the light of day – but who was one of the most influential and visionary architects of the late-twentieth century). What is your claim and why?

“Pink World”

And what we really want to know from you is: What is your most treasured possession?

My most treasured possessions are my engagement ring and a pair of golden earrings in shape of elephant that my grandma gave me when I was a child.
