Bus Travel
Manon Wertenbroek x Julian Zigerli
What happens next?
I have been working on a new series since a while called “Bus Travel”. Lately, it was presented by the British Journal of Photography. This fall, I will present the same series in a group show curated by Samuel Gross, at the Swiss Institute in Rome from 25.10.16 to 25.01.17. In January 2017, new work and installations will be presented at my first solo show curated by Alexandra Blaettler at Coalmine art center in Winterthur.
Which idea/project/wish were you able to realize due to the prize money?
Thanks to the SDA and it’s support, I can use the money as an investment for the future. As a young artist, I see it as a real push forward which gives me the ability to produce new work or exhibitions in a shorter time. The prize will help me paying for my studio, art supplies and production costs giving me more freedom and time to focus on my work.
Which other participant has inspired you the most this year?
I had a crush on Julian Zigerli’s work and on the designer himself. Since we met at the SDA, we collaborated together on several projects including images of two of his shows during fashion week in Paris. Soon we will collaborate together again, but that’s still a secret project. 😉
